building your community
sphere is more than a workout—it’s a community. what makes people come back isn’t just the ball, it’s the connection, the atmosphere, and the culture you create. here’s how to keep players showing up week after week.
1. pregame: set the foundation
community doesn’t happen by accident. it starts before the first whistle.
sign up + training. become a captain, go through training, and learn the playbook.
gear up. buy your sphere kit, and share the unboxing like it’s an influencer drop.
build your starting 11. create a group chat with your core team—family, friends, and teammates who will hype you up and bring +1s. hand out shirts/gear so they feel ownership.
set up your locker room chat. this is your central hub for all players (slack, whatsapp, sweatpals). make it the place where information flows.
post consistently. reels of you juggling a mini ball, repping your shirt, or showing off the pagg sticker—every post builds identity and attracts new players.
announce your kickoff. clear CTA, date/time/location, and let people know how to join.
2. kickoff: energy is everything
your first event is about making a strong impression and capturing content you can reuse.
hype and atmosphere. music up, field set, teammates ready. make it impossible to walk by without wanting to join.
content matters. have someone film vertical clips—locker room vibes, the huddle, the workout, high-fives, and the big group picture. this becomes your future promo.
fill the field. aim for 21 players = one full field. the bigger the energy, the bigger the pull for newcomers.
invite on the spot. say hello to people passing by, kick a ball their way, ask other groups to join. laughter and color attract people naturally.
celebrate after. go straight to #noshowerhappyhour—brunch, food, or drinks. connection off the field makes the bond real.
3. location marketing: live loud in your city
let your presence be felt beyond the pitch.
wear sphere gear everywhere. pickup, leagues, social events—it sparks conversation.
post in local groups. facebook, meetups, ig city pages—be visible.
stickers + signs. qr codes around walking trails, signs at the park, sideline boards for a pro look.
connect with influencers. pay or gift local strikers to post about your kickoff.
direct recruitment. shoot dms, message groups, call friends—exhaust your local network.
4. keep the ball rolling: deepen connection
building community is all about consistency and culture.
c.a.p.: connection, atmosphere, police. always create a safe, fun, connected vibe.
content is community. pregame, game, and post-game moments—tag every player and future player. create short reels (15–30 seconds) that showcase the vibe.
funnel into one hub. move everyone to sweatpals or your main chat for consistency.
check-ins + enrollments. require check-ins at every practice and personally invite players back via dm or text.
consistency builds trust. never cancel practice unless there’s an emergency. players need to know you’ll be there.
build stickiness. host weekly happy hours after practice. get to know teammates personally. that’s where loyalty is born.
expand your starting 11. think beyond players—bring in a video person, photographer, creative, cheerleader, team manager. community grows when roles expand.
value through commitment. charging players ensures consistency. people show up for what they pay for.
5. the long game
your community will grow if you keep showing up, keep creating energy, and keep deepening connection. it’s not about one practice, it’s about building a culture people want to be part of. when you do that, players don’t just show up once—they bring their friends, they come back, and they make sphere part of their lifestyle.
